Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a singer from Newark, New Jersey on the 9th of August 1963. Her parents are gospel stars Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard), and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick also sings. Whitney's mother and her began singing professionally in the church of New Hope Baptist of Newark at the age of 15 years old. The two sang backing vocals in Chaka Khans 1978 track Im Every Woman. She then went on to perform backing vocals for Jermaine, Lou Rawls, as well as her mom. The singer began her career as a lead vocalist with the band from New York called Material and it was the high quality of her vocal work in the band that caught the attention of the major record labels, including Arista with whom she signed in 1983, and with whom she stayed for the rest of her professional career. But it came with The Bodyguard of 1992 that was her breakthrough album and made her one of the top-selling performers in the history of music. While the film wasn't well-received and neither was her performance, the soundtrack to her Dolly Parton version I Will Always Love You hit the top of both singles and albums charts in the United States for a period of time. She sold 44,000,000 copies. Her daughter Bobbi was born in the month of March in 1993. This was the year following her wedding to Bobby Brown. Around this time that her widely documented substance abuse began. By 1996, she was a regular drug user.
Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American reporter anchorwoman as well as political correspondent for CNN. Her programs on Saturdays are Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Bash has been awarded the Women in Washington Power List honor in Elle magazine.
