Her mother Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of the mobile network operator Verizon. Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. was the director of a company which has an internet network. The family lived in an exclusive Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan in a Catholic family. In order to avoid being a victim of the system, her parents were enrolled at the Convent of the Sacred Heart the most prestigious religious school. She was an avid musician throughout her early years. She first began playing piano when she was just an infant. After the age of 13 when she was thirteen, she began writing the first track. She participated in open-mic nights. Her favourite singers are Queen Michael Jackson Madonna, and David Bowie. She took music classes at New York University Tisch School of Art upon completing her secondary schooling. However, she didn't complete her degree and decided to quit in order to pursue her musical career.
