Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musically inclined family on the 9th of August, 1963. She was born in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. as well as a cousin of the singing sensation Dionne Warwick. Whitney's mother and her began to sing professionally together at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the year Whitney was just fifteen years old. They sang the backing vocals for Chaka Khan's track from 1978 Im Every Woman. In the following years, she was a backing vocals to Lou Rawls & Jermaine jackson and her mother. She started as a featured singer for New York-based New York Funk band Material. Her quality of vocal work attracted attention from major record label Arista which she joined in 1983. Whitney Houston became the top-selling debut single for a new artist in the year. The album All My Love was released in 1985 and became a number one smash. The album sold US 3,000,000 copies, and later reached 25,000,000 copies globally. This gave her the first of her 6 Grammy Awards. The Whitney follow-up in 1987 with the singles What Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to further build upon the success of her first album. It was, however it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her position as one of the world's most popular artist. The film, and her performance as a character was not popular, however the soundtrack and her rendition to Dolly's I Will Always Love You was a hit for a few months at the top of the charts. In all, she sold nearly 44 million singles and albums across the globe. In the same year she welcomed her daughter Bobbi Brown, she got married to Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. Around this time that her much documented substance abuse began. By 1996, she was a regular user.
Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchor and political reporter. She has produced shows for the network, such as Evans & Novak' Late Edition' and Inside Politics'. The awards and honors she has received include her inclusion on the "The Women in Washington Power List" by Elle magazine. She's known for her amazing anchoring and reporting skills, and is loved by the younger journalists. She is also a loving father to her son despite having graduated from George Washington University. The couple was divorced twice and is now a single. Bash is a fan of all her followers.
